That's basically a roundabout way of linking crocodiles to the sun. In short, I wanted to draw a stylized croc wrapping around a stylized sun.
Of course, my drawing skillz being subpar as they are, I did not manage to get it to a good enough state that I'm willing to submit it. For the sake of MSCE, I'll post the sketch.
I had many, many problems.
1. I failed at the shape of the head.
2. I failed at positioning the legs properly (and completely gave up on the left hind leg).
3. It didn't look particularly Egyptian.
I'll stop now before I depress myself. :P
Hmm... looking at it now, it kind of reminds me of the Mortal Kombat logo. Bah!

The proportions of the croc don't bother me. It's the half-distressing that you have going on. As it is right now, it kind of looks.... accidentally messy. I'd either texturize it and weather it some more or clean it up. And then I'd submit it! Reminds me of the symbols from Legends of the Hidden Temple. :P
I like it. Very simple. I understand what Bella is saying but I think if all your edges were that kind of rough look it would be consistent. I definitely think you should submit it after that. And I think some of the "problems" you mention actually add to the uniqueness of the design. Remember the coders old standby "It's not a bug, it's a feature." So keep on drawing.
I think the half-distressing might just be a result of my hasty scribbling to colour the sun in the background.
